Write to hello@orbfill.com about anything: a question, a wrong number on your map, a data request or a deletion. Please write from the address of your OrbFill account, so we can find it.
Connecting Strava
In OrbFill, open Settings (or the welcome screen) and choose Connect with Strava. Strava shows what OrbFill asks for: reading your activities, and editing them for the line with your new-road numbers. You can untick editing there and still connect. Your newest activities arrive first; a long history keeps loading in the background.
Connecting Ride with GPS
In OrbFill's Settings (or the welcome screen), choose Connect Ride with GPS and allow access on Ride with GPS's page. OrbFill reads your own trips and never writes to Ride with GPS. Disconnecting in Settings, or revoking access on Ride with GPS, removes every activity that came from it.
The line on your Strava activities
With editing allowed, OrbFill adds one line to the description of new activities, right under your own text and above other apps' text, for example “OrbFill coverage: 27.1% of your town (+0.5%) · +0.46 km new roads”. It never changes anything else in the description, and it never moves the line back if you move it. Turn it off at any time in Settings.
Disconnecting Strava and deleting data
Disconnect in OrbFill's Settings, or remove OrbFill in your Strava settings. Either way OrbFill deletes everything that came from Strava: activities, roads and achievements. Activities you uploaded yourself stay. To delete your whole OrbFill account, use Delete my account in Settings.
Your privacy
Data from Strava is shown only to you, never sold, and never given to AI tools. The privacy policy explains what we keep, for how long, and your rights.
Delete your account
You can delete your OrbFill account and its data at any time, with or without the app. There is no undo.
- In the app: open More, then Settings, and tap Delete my account at the bottom.
- On the website: sign in at orbfill.com, open More, then Settings, and choose Delete my account at the bottom.
- If you cannot sign in: write to hello@orbfill.com from the address of your OrbFill account and ask us to delete it. We delete it for you and write back when it is done.
What is deleted at once
- Your login: your email address, your password and your Google sign-in.
- Your profile and settings, including your display name and your public page.
- Every activity from every source (uploads, Apple Health, Health Connect, Strava, Ride with GPS), with its route, the roads it covered, your percentages and your achievements.
- Files you uploaded that were still waiting to be processed.
- Your Strava and Ride with GPS connections. OrbFill also asks Strava and Ride with GPS to end its access.
What stays for a while
- Backups: our encrypted nightly backups still hold your data until they are deleted, at the latest after 90 days.
- Job records: finished entries in our processing queue contain your account number and are deleted after 30 days.
- Deletion records: if you disconnected Strava or Ride with GPS before, we keep a short record of that deletion (your account number, the reason, the times and how many activities were removed; no activity data), so that we can confirm it. The privacy policy says for how long.
- Usage statistics: our usage measurement (PostHog) links them only to a random account number, never to your name or email address. They are not removed automatically. To have them removed too, write to hello@orbfill.com before you delete your account; afterwards we can no longer tell which ones were yours.
Your activities on Strava, Ride with GPS, Apple Health and Health Connect are not touched: OrbFill deletes only its own copy. Lines OrbFill has already added to your Strava activity descriptions stay on Strava; you can remove them there.
Frequently asked questions
How do I bring my activities?
Connect Strava, or upload GPX or FIT files. Places for Strava connections are limited until Strava has reviewed OrbFill; files always work. Garmin connection is planned.
Where can I explore?
Anywhere in the world. The roads come from OpenStreetMap, so how complete they are varies by place.
Is my map private?
Yes. Your map is shown only to you. Coverage from Strava will always stay private, as Strava’s rules require; public profiles for coverage from files you upload come later, and only if you turn them on.
Is there a phone app?
You can use this website on your phone; add it to your home screen for an app-like feel. An app for iPhone and Android is planned.
Is OrbFill free?
Yes, during this testing phase, with your whole history and no payment details. Later, the free plan will keep your 50 most recent activities and a paid plan your full history. We will tell you at least 30 days before anything changes.
