Terms of use

1. The Service

OrbFill matches the GPS activities you bring to the road network and shows which roads you have covered and how much of each area you have explored. You can upload activity files or, where it is available to you, connect Strava.

OrbFill is in an early testing phase. Features may change, pause or be removed, and the Service may be interrupted or slow at times. OrbFill does not keep the files you upload permanently, so please keep your own copies of your original activity files.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to use OrbFill.
• Give accurate information when you register, keep your sign-in details private and do not let anyone else use your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One account is for one person. You may delete your account at any time in Settings.

3. Your activities

Your activities remain yours. Upload only activities you recorded yourself or have the right to use. You allow us to store and process them only to provide the Service to you, and, if you turn on your public profile, to show the coverage from your uploaded files there. This permission ends when you delete the activity or your account, as described in the privacy policy.

4. Connected services, including Strava

If you sign in with Google or connect Strava, your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. You can disconnect Strava at any time; what then happens to your data is described in the privacy policy.

OrbFill is an independent service. It is not developed, sponsored or endorsed by Strava, Google or any other connected service. Data we obtain from Strava is shown only to you.

Third-party service providers that connect to OrbFill, including Strava, make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, about OrbFill or about the data they provide to it, and they are not liable to you for any consequential, special, punitive or indirect damages arising from your use of OrbFill.

5. Acceptable use

Please use OrbFill lawfully and fairly. You may not:

• upload data you have no right to use, or data about another person without their permission;
• copy, resell or redistribute the Service, or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission;
• extract data from the Service automatically, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
• interfere with the Service, overload it, or get around its limits and security measures;
• use the Service in a way that breaks the law or harms other people.

6. Safety and accuracy

Coverage figures are estimates based on GPS recordings and map data. They may change when we correct errors or update maps.

OrbFill is not a navigation, route-planning or safety service. A road shown on the map may be private, closed, dangerous or not open to walkers or cyclists. You alone decide where to go and remain responsible for your own safety and for following traffic rules, access restrictions and local laws. Take care, and never let exploring put you or others at risk.

7. Map data

Roads and area boundaries come from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright). Map images are provided by OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles. These sources are maintained by volunteers and may be incomplete or out of date.

8. Price

OrbFill is free during the testing phase and asks for no payment details. If we introduce paid plans, or limits for free accounts such as keeping only your most recent activities, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance. Nothing is ever charged without your explicit agreement, and any prices we show will include VAT where it applies.

9. Intellectual property

The OrbFill name, logo, software and design belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you the right to use the Service for your own personal purposes; they do not transfer any other rights to you.

10. Suspension and ending

You may stop using OrbFill and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the Service or other people at risk; where appropriate we tell you why. We may also end the Service, in which case we give you reasonable notice where we can. When an account is closed, its data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

11. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate, or that it is fit for a particular purpose.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, for loss of data, or for damage arising from how you use coverage information outdoors. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, in particular for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country. Please contact us first: most questions are answered quickest by email.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We publish every change on this page with a new effective date and tell you about significant changes at least 30 days in advance, in the app or by email. If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your account before it takes effect.
